About: Since 2002, Yevgen Groza played a key role in a number of development projects in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy and climate change. During 2005-2014, he had led a regional team of consultants of the EBRD-EIB Multilateral Carbon Credit Fund in four countries. During 2013-2015, Yevgen served as a key expert of the “Preparedness for Emissions Trading in the EBRD Region” Project, providing major inputs to formulating policy scenarios for carbon taxation and emissions trading in Ukraine. While working for the World Bank during 2016-2018 Yevgen has successfully led development of CO2 emissions monitoring and reporting methodologies, and performing pilot monitoring activities for several large-scale industrial installations. As the regional manager of EU-UNDP EU4Climate project (2019-2024), Yevgen coordinated the process of developing the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), Low Emissions Development Strategies and draft Climate Laws for the countries of the EU Eastern Partnership region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine). Currently Yevgen is responsible for coordinating the Just Energy Transition portfolio of projects of UNDP Moldova. Yevgen has over 24 years of managing and providing major contributions to a number of programmes and projects implemented by UNDP, the World Bank and EBRD.
