About: Vahram Jalalyan is an energy and climate expert with over 25 years of professional experience, including more than 20 years dedicated to energy efficiency, building retrofits, renewable energy, and climate change mitigation. He has managed and contributed to multiple national and international initiatives, working with government institutions, IFIs, private sector stakeholders, and academia. Since 2017, he has coordinated the UNDP–Green Climate Fund project “De-Risking and Scaling up Investments in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits” in Armenia—one of the first ten GCF-financed projects globally in the building efficiency sector. His earlier roles include managing the UNDP “Improving Energy Efficiency in Buildings” project and contributing to national energy policies, legislation, and technical standards. Mr. Jalalyan also serves as Vice-Chair of the UNECE Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency and Co-Chair of the Joint Task Force on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings. He has authored and co-edited several technical handbooks and publications on sustainable buildings and energy efficiency and has represented Armenia in numerous international energy forums. He holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the State Engineering University of Armenia and is a certified energy auditor.
