About: Mr. Mehlwana is an Economic Affairs Officer in the Energy Infrastructure & Services Section at the Private Sector Development & Finance Division. He has worked in partnership with African Union Commission, the NEPAD Policy and Coordinating Agency, Regional Economic Commissions (RECs) and numerous African and international institutions. The notable institutions he has worked for include the Energy and Development Research Centre at the University of Cape Town, the Minerals and Energy Policy Centre and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Council. In these institutions he has worked as a senior researcher and programme manager. He was a Lead Author of the Nobel Peace Award (2007) winning IPCC team on Climate Change Mitigation. Mr. Mehlwana holds a M.A. in social sciences from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
